American Capital's Sponsor Finance Group supports private equity sponsors with senior debt, subordinated debt and minority equity investments to provide for a quick, certain close with one trusted partner. With a focus on partnering with private equity firms, as well as directly with companies, our 40 Sponsor Finance professionals are able to provide a one stop financing solution and manage all pre- and post-closing aspects of a transaction, including sourcing and executing deals and monitoring portfolio companies.

The Sponsor Finance Group has made more than 200 debt and minority equity investments worth over $6 billion. The Sponsor Finance Group can provide one stop senior debt (first and second lien), subordinated debt and minority equity to finance acquisitions or corporate growth initiatives.

INVESTMENT CRITERIA

  • Middle market business services, consumer products and services, manufacturing, industrial, distribution, healthcare and food companies
  • Investment size of $10 million to $400 million million per transaction (will consider smaller investments for portfolio company add-on acquisitions)
  • Company EBITDA of at least $5 million
  • Minority ownership position of up to 49%
