Bethesda, MD - January 25, 2006 - American Capital Strategies Ltd. (Nasdaq:ACAS) announced today the formation of Mirion Technologies Inc., through the merger of its U.S. portfolio companies Global Dosimetry Solutions Inc. and Imaging and Sensing Technology Corporation with its French portfolio company synOdys Group SA. Tom Logan, the prior CEO of Global Dosimetry, will lead the combined company as its CEO. No new financing is being provided as part of this merger. American Capital investments in these companies took the form of subordinated debt and preferred and common stock and total $244 million. American Capital Invests $72 Million in the Buyout of Leading Global Manufacturer and Distributor of Radiation Detection Equipment

Bethesda, MD - June 25, 2004 - American Capital Strategies Ltd. (Nasdaq:ACAS) announced today it has invested $72 million in the acquisition of synOdys Group SA, a leading manufacturer of systems and equipment to protect people and goods from nuclear, biological and chemical risks, from Acland Capital Investissement and management. American Capital's investment takes the form of senior debt, senior and junior subordinated debt and common and redeemable preferred equity. American Capital is also providing a revolving credit facility. As part of the transaction, Acland and synOdys management also acquired an ownership interest in Global Dosimetry Solutions Inc., an American Capital portfolio company and a provider of radiation dosimetry services, and are maintaining a significant equity investment in synOdys. (Nasdaq: ACAS) announced today that it has invested $44.5 million in the buyout of Imaging and Sensing Technology Corporation ("IST"), a leading designer and assembler of equipment for use in nuclear power plants. American Capital's investment takes the form of a senior term loan, senior and junior subordinated debt with warrants, redeemable preferred stock and common equity. American Capital Invests $49 Million in Buyout of Leading Provider of Radiation Dosimetry Services

Bethesda, MD - October 1, 2003 - American Capital Strategies Ltd. (Nasdaq:ACAS) announced today it has invested $49 million in the buyout of ICN Worldwide Dosimetry Services, one of the world's largest providers of radiation dosimetry services, from ICN Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NYSE: ICN). The business will now operate under the new name, Global Dosimetry Solutions Inc.
